The Crown Prince of Norway's Wedding: HM The Queen of Spain

Sofia looks quite pleased in this photo, doesn't she?  And why shouldn't she -- she's got one of the hunkiest princes in Europe (her son, Prince Felipe) to escort her, and one of the most beautiful sparklers in the Spanish collection, the Mellerio Floral Tiara, on her royal crown.  What's not to love?

(I'm going to assume that this was also taken before she saw the dress that her son's then-girlfriend, Norwegian model Eva Sannum, wore to the wedding.  Now, I'm not a royal protocol expert or anything, but somehow I don't think wearing a dress that's backless, sideless, and almost frontless is exactly appropriate for such an occasion...)

    Tres bien! Now, normally I would not be happy that Sofia's wearing that tiara, because it's all she wears these days, but she looks great in it and this was nine years ago.
