Really hate this old-timey, lacy dress -- but I love the Pearl Poiré Tiara! It's so perfect for a queen -- substantial, opulent, and, most importantly, incredibly sparkly!
bringing you the very best in ridiculous royal hats

Wow, someone is have a Scarlett O'Hara moment! I love the expression on her face here, especially in conjunction with the slightly nervous looking man in uniform.
She really does know how to work these tiaras. This one is particularly pretty.
She is doing the whole Gone with the Wind thing here isn't she.
I wonder if she will ever be poor again? Or give a damn?
It's a bit too flouncy for a woman of a certain age... She needs a bit more structure and less froth.
I think we just figured out the mystery of Queen Victoria's missing honiton lace flounces...
I find it very interesting that she wore costumes to both gala events.
I just had a flashback to the 1860s. And I don't like it.
Nice tiara, though!
I don't hate the frock. It's a nice throwback to the 1860's. I will always love that tiara.
Not sure why anyone at any period in time would want to make their bum look bigger. But maybe that's just me.
What about HM other sister?
What do you mean, Lea?
very pretty color and lace, but a little too costume-y.
love the tiara, and necklace!
she does love her jewelry, and wears them beautifully!
