Pre-Wedding Theatre Gala: HRH The Grand Duchess of Luxembourg

Maria Teresa chose to wore the Pearl and Diamond Choker Tiara to the theatre gala, along with an ... interesting dress.  Is that a cape, or wings?

It's always a bit nerve-racking clicking on a link for Marie-Teresa because she tries soooo hard, and when it works it's great. I'm really liking this! There is obviously some serious corsetry in the bodice to stop anything moving that shouldn't be, and the skirt is soft and pretty. And the cape cunningly disguises the bingo-wings (Sophie take note!)

I really like the tiara as well - normally sticky up pearls are a no-no, but I think it gives her a bit of extra hight.

The frock is a bit Margot Leadbetter though isn't it...

LOL!! I so want to call this pairing Margot & Jerry now... I think style goddess Margot Leadbetter is actually who Marie Teresa might model herself after - unfortunately Penny Keith is about a foot taller!

I do think this is the best evening ensemble she's put together though - she actually doesn't look dumpy for once. I could live without the sparkly bits on the bodice, but overall I approve

Once again I am reminded why I want to start the International Socitiety for Dressing the Grand Duchess.

MT *g* I actually like this one, the 'sleeves' are a little "eh?" but I can well live with that. She could have used a bit more tan to her arms though (not that I'm a big tanner but anyway).

But well, I like MT in general, even though cringing at her dress sense at times. What she wears for her own children's weddings will be interesting (Louis doesn't count).

i agree with maggie: the dress would be much better without the sequins. i wish it wasn't so pink, too.

very pretty tiara, and i'm not usually a big fan of spikes on tiaras.
