Alexandra chose her usual tiara -- the Alexandrine Diamond Drop Tiara -- for one of her last major functions as a member of the Danish royal family. (She and Joachim announced their separation in September 2004 and divorced in April 2005.)
I love the way the tiara just sits on top of Alexandra's hair here -- it looks so old-fashioned and regal. So sad that the tiara is no longer in royal hands -- here's hoping that Alexandra gives it to one of her future daughters-in-law one day!
(Also, a Pepto-Bismal pink capelet? Yikes!)

Still think this looks like a toy perched on top of her huge hair!
And the pink isn't really her colour
I miss her. She had a certain something that even Mary lacks. I'm glad she is happy and all, but I still miss her.
The dress/capelet looked much better in natural light, in my opinion.
i think the tiara looks perfect here: perched high, hair not too big.
i agree with kiri anne: the color didn't look quite so strong in natural sunlight. the cut highlighted her slim figure, with a close-cut top and hips and sweeping skirt (i do like a sweeping skirt!). very pretty, flattering and classy.
nonethless, i don't like the matchy-matchy capelet. WAY too much of a good thing (and that's presuming you like the dress) and putting the outfit into the range of gala barbie.
Bloody hell, how much hairspray must this woman use? The tiara looks very precarious, just perched on top of her helmet hair like that.
That shade of bubblegum pink is a bit sickening. Especially with the added cape.
That dress is a sight - way too much pink satin. She looks like she was narked not to be asked to be a bridesmaid.
And Tom - yes, yes, yes, that tiars looks most precarious up there, shares in Ellnet must have plummeted when she left the royal stable. All that said, I liked her, and it's a shame we don't see much of her any more.
I don't care for the tiara sitting on top of her head either. Honestly? It appears to me as if she might be trying to upstage Mary a bit here with the big hair and bigger bling-ier tiara.
She's a lovely woman, but no, pink isn't her color.
Pink never wears well with her skin tone. I do love this dress, perhaps just not on her.
I'm with Ella on the tiara. It looks amazing, and I hope Nicholas (?) and Felix will get married and their wives will wear it.
