The Crown Prince of Denmark's Wedding: HRH The Countess of Wessex
One day after debuting a brand-new tiara at the pre-wedding gala, Sophie's back to her Old Faithful Tiara -- the one she wore at her own wedding. This is a better photo of the tiara than we saw last time; the way the middle elements are stacked is clearer. It makes me wish they could have somehow integrated them better into one solid middle piece -- I think I'd really like this one if that were the case!
Don't like this view of it - it seems to be tipped really far back. And surely the base wire should be hidden

This doesn't seem like a good shot of it - here it does look like they just took a few castoff pieces and soldered them together (which is, of course, what they did). It looks better in the shot from CP Haakon's wedding, where it looks a little more cohesive.
I also love her earrings - they look like little crowns.
They should have hid the base, you can clearly see the metal wires that from the "head band" bit of the tiara, and it's not exactly decorative...
I love Sophie, but I don't care for this tiara. It looks cheap and fake, and here is a particularly bad example since it clearly wasn't set in her hairdo correctly. Not good at all.
I really wish Sophie had access to a couple more tiaras. This one really needs more work, or even scrapping. The wire seriously needs sorting. There's one of Queen Mary's that she's worn that would have looked fabulous.
This tiara is a disaster. On her own wedding day you could see the wires, and it really bugged me then. And the middle bit is just two pieces bunged together and badly at that. She deserved better, and surely HM could have rustled up any number of little work tiaras from the vaults - such as the scroll tiara, which would have been better than this car crash. Harrumph!

Yikes, no thanks! This really needs something in between the motifs! It's so empty! And I can't stand how the middle ones are stacked! What was Sophie's hairdresser thinking when she/he left the wires showing?
Sigh.
They need to fill in the gaps a bit between the middle elements and the two side elements -- when she wears this, it almost looks like she's wearing a headband with "kitty ears".
