This post has three new things: a new royal (Princess Marina of Savoy, the Princess of Naples), a new tiara (Queen Margherita's Musy Tiara), and a royal wearing a tiara with sunglasses. That last one is definitely a blog first, I think!
Princess Marina would be Queen of Italy had the Italians not booted out their monarchy a generation ago, and her tiara is one that's certainly fit for a queen. It was made for Queen Margherita, who was queen of the newly-unified Italy from 1878 to 1900, by Musy. It's a versatile tiara that can be worn in various configurations, and it's super intricate.
(But the tiara isn't my favorite thing named after Margherita -- that would be margherita pizza. Yuuuuuum!)
I love the tiara and it looks fab with the dark suit.
I want to biff her over the head, nick her tiara and give it to Cake - how amazing would it look on her?
Her suit is very smart, she does look extremely Italian in a kind of Sophia Loren-ish way (except without the cartoon bazoombas obviously)
Beaut tiara, fab suit...
My lord. That's freaking enormous!!!!! Gorgeous, I think... It's almost frightening!
love the tiara. it looks very good esp with the severly cut jacket.
don't love the orange skin tones. and the sunglasses.
What a brilliant tiara. It works very well with the suit, in a strange way. Very Sophia Loren. I reckon if the Italians still had a monarchy, they would be the fun ones to watch.
I laughed out loud when I saw this. The tiara is, of course, amazing. But the suit - very Alexis Colby, and those sunnies! Hahahahaha. She looks like one fierce Italian Mamma, but really, Mamma Mia - not all of it together!
Not a lot of royalty about her!
Love her outfit though, without the earrings and te tiara!
I've been wondering - are those sunglasses or are they photogray glasses, the kind that darken in light?
Interesting way of wearing a tiara.
