The Crown Prince of Denmark's Wedding: HSH Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleberg

Here's an excellent view of Queen Ingrid's Star and Pearl Tiara, worn to the wedding by Benedikte's daughter, Princess Alexandra of SWB.  Without Ben's major hair to bolster it, this one really does look sparse and spiky, doesn't it?

It's all a bit pointy-poky really. Not at all fab.

I have never liked this tiara either but it seems to be a very historic piece. From pictures in Royal Jewels of the World Message Board posts it looks like this tiara was worn first not by Queen Ingrid but by Queen Sophia of Sweden (Princess Alexandra’s great-great-great grandmother). The central star is currently lower than when Sophia wore the tiara but otherwise they look like the same tiara to me.

Yikes, I don't like this tiara even less than before!! It's so weird!

It's not my favorite tiara, but I kind of like it - it's different. However, the rather severe face Alexandra's pulling here does sort of taint everything.

Nope. Too sparse and random pour moi.

Ooh - I like it. I suspect it is because I am cheap trash and like anything a bit blingy, and I love a good star.

But seriously - Alex, love. Why the long face?
