The Prince of Asturias's Wedding: HRH The Princess of Turnovo

I cannot decide whether or not I like Princess Miriam's hat here.  The blush/blue color combination is interesting, and it's certainly an innovative shape ... but doesn't it also look like it might really just be made up of crumpled pieces of netting all scotch-taped together?

And what's with the weird stick poking out from the bottom of it?  Is that some sort of handle?

    This could be fabulous, but it's kind of hard to tell. I would suspect that it's not meant to be worn so far back on the head.
    What is that stick for???

    The colours are gorgeous, but the frou-frou skirt and the structured jacket are a mismatch I would say.

    That hat just seems seriously weird from this angle. Perhaps a non blue shade would have been better for the jacket too.
