State Visit from Lebanon: HM The Queen of Spain

A new royal family for the blog, and a new queen, too! What have we done to get so lucky, readers?
And, again, it's a Tiara Alert!
Queen Sofia of Spain, who is royal through and through (she was a Greek princess before marrying her Spanish royal husband), is wearing one of the prettiest tiaras in the Spanish royal collection: the Mellerio Floral Tiara. Mellerio is a French jewelry company, one of the oldest in Europe. This tiara is relatively new, however; it was made in 1962 at the request of Francisco Franco, who gave it to Sofia on her wedding day on behalf of the Spanish people.
Since then, Sofia and the other royal women of Spain have worn it frequently. Infanta Cristina wore it on her wedding day, and Princess Letizia has also worn it to gala events. And I think it's just gorgeous -- it may be my favorite of all royal floral tiaras!
