Ely Cathedral: HM The Queen

I had to really put on my blog archive detective hat to find the last outing for this little number. HM busted it out back in February for another church service, and I quite liked it then.
Overall, I still like it now. It's an interesting coral/orange/peach color, the shape is nice, and the embellishments aren't too over-the-top.
But ... I just don't really care for these hats that appear to have grown in a coat of fur for the winter, honestly.
There was a photo of The Queen in the paper this morning having to hang on to this hat, which shows how windy it was - she normally seems impervious to the forces of nature. Nice colour, lovely shape, impressive matching hatpins, but it does look as if it's made of bath towels. Still, it's probably cosy.
Maggie beat me to the comment about Lilibet and the very blustery day photo! =)
I know what you mean about the furrniess, but I still love it, it's just such a fab colour and very elegant. One of my favourites of the year (up there with the remembrance day purple and the maundy turquoise)...
It seems an odd color choice for this time of year, to me. In spring when it's still cold but we're all hopeful for warm weather, yes. But now? I like the purples better.
