Scheveningen Circustheater: HM The Queen of The Netherlands (27 Nov 2009)

Beatrix sort of looks like she's daring me to say something mean about this hat, doesn't she?  Well, to be totally honest, I don't know what to say about this one.  For a Beatrix hat, I guess it's fine.  If I saw it on anyone else, I probably would have to have words with the wearer.

One curiosity, though: do you think that's just a random orangey-yellow spot on the hat, or a hat pin?

    In her defense (not that she needs me to defend her) these hats have ceased to be fashion and are now part of the royal uniform. It's simply the het shape Her Majesty wears, and to expect a fashion trend or even taste (good bad or otherwise) is in a way, beside the point. Of course, Hat fans are disappointed, but alas, c'est la guerre.
