Birthday Dinner at Fredensborg Palace: HM The Queen of Denmark

Queen Margrethe broke out one of the coolest tiaras in the Danish royal treasure trove for her final big birthday bash: the Floral Aigrette Tiara, a flexible wreath tiara that wraps nearly around the wearer's entire head.  Seems very appropriate for a royal crown like Daisy's!

And now, it's time to pack all of the visiting royals back into the coach buses (and on to their most royal of trains, I suppose -- flights are still grounded) and send them back to their "regular" royal lives.  But before we close out, here's one more really neat little view of last night's gala at the Danish Royal Theatre: a pan-and-zoom photo, in which you can see the entire audience and where they were seated.  Too much fun!  Enjoy!

I always have liked this tiara, especially the way it fits around Margrethe's hairstyle. Lovely. Our Great Dane really has excelled herself this week.
Ella, you too have excelled yourself. I think it's time you had that stiff drink now. Well done again.

Thank you Ella for what has been a most enjoyable few days hatting - it's almost as good as being there. The pan-and-zoom is great - wouldn't it have been wonderful if one of the young royals had had there picture taken at one side, and then run round the theatre to appear at the other?

Her Majesty looks delightful in this - it suits her perfectly. A Toast to Her Majesty!! Hat hat hooray!!

You can't see it here, but I love QM's dress. Anne-Marie's is beautiful also.

Thanks Ellla! This has been so much fun! And this tiara looks so smart on the Queen. But even she looks a tad tuckered. Maybe both of you can go take a nice snooze, then head back to your wonderful way of doing your jobs on the morrow.

Ella, I must add to the praise - you have outdone yourself! Such a treat, coming here these last few days. You better go on and start resting up for the big wedding!

Lovely - and I reckon she deserves a lie down after all this partying.

I think the only person who must be more tired is Ella - you must be worn out after all this. I too have loved this few days. If we had the budgets of the hatters, I think we would all pay for you to have a lie down on a Caribbean beach for a week to recover - plus a tiara to wear at night. Well done and thank you!

Dear Ella, yes, thank you; this has been so much fun, especially the pan and zoom. I cannot wait for your coverage of the wedding. By the way, were the British royals prevented from attending by the volcano or did they just not feel like going? I assume they could have made it by rail... or something.
