At first, I thought that the Maria Teresa came to the birthday dinner wearing Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte's Diamond Scroll Tiara, but then helpful reader Shannon sent in this better angle:

... which shows that this is the Luxembourg Diamond Floral Tiara. I don't know much about the provenance on this one ... do we have any tiara historians who know a bit more about the Luxembourg collection and can fill us in?
(Quickly, though, can we give three cheers to Grand Duke Henri? He's not only holding his wife's fur wrap for her in the first picture above, he's also attending Margrethe's birthday party on his own birthday! He turns 55 today. Happy birthday, Your Royal Highness!)

Here's a closer look at the tiara-- http://www.royal-magazin.de/luxemburg/empire-tiara.htm
I think that this is it. It's stunning, if that is it!
Oooh that is a nice pit of headwear, and worn much better than her attempt last night. I like her hair here too.
I'm not sure here. I think this is too small to be the Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte tiara. Can't really offer an alternative, however.
That dress is hideous. It clings in all the wrong places and the colour's dull.
Oh I'm sorry, I posted the wrong link!
I believe this is the link! http://www.royal-magazin.de/luxemburg/index.htm
Eliza, you could well be right there. If only we had a clearer picture.
Yep, that's the one I'm thinking it is, Eliza! Thanks for the link!
Here's a better pic - looks too floral to be the one that Eliza posted, no?

Ah, excellent, Shannon! It's not the Josephine-Charlotte Diamond Scroll; it's the Luxembourg Diamond Floral Tiara. Great find!
*scurries off to update post*
That frock does her no favours - repeating comments to Alexia - it makes her looks big and is too young for her. More shape, less float please.
I think sometimes use curvy girls get the idea that floaty fabric covers a multitude of sins, which it does...in the shop, standing up straight in front of the mirror. Go out in a breeze and suddenly its clinging to everything you try to hide.
A bit of structure tailoring to enhance the curves you want to show off would work wonders for her. In other words, hoick up the bosoms, that gives her a waist, and then some magic knickers to show off the booty!!
ROFL Love your pithy description, Maggie...
