HRH The Crown Princess of Sweden and Mr. Daniel Westling
June 19, 2010
Well, kids, yesterday we partied hardy in the wedding live posts, and today we get to have a tiara fiesta! I've compiled all of the tiara entries for the royal guests at Crown Princess Victoria's wedding to Daniel Westling (now Prince Daniel) in this entry.
The wedding, of course, took place in Stockholm yesterday. The couple has been together since 2002, when Daniel became Victoria's personal trainer. Love blossomed, and on their wedding day, Daniel became royal. During their balcony appearance, Victoria thanked the people of Sweden for giving her a prince.
And now, we'll all just have to wait to see how long it takes before the pitter-patter of little royal feet are heard in Haga Palace!

I'm still all emotional! For anyone who's interested, there's a video of Prince Daniel's speech with subtitle in English here:
Ella:
Thank you so much for s[ending the time doing these detailed reports. How lovely! I enjoyed them enormously.
Lisa
Thanks for the tiara-fest, Ella!
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful coverage Ella, I had a blast hanging out yesterday with everyone!
Great coverage! Like a history lesson. Thanks for all your efforts.
I loved that speech, thanks Maggie. I have had a niggling worry that Victoria is a little bit more in love than Daniel but after watching that I'm not worried any more.
You're more than welcome, everybody.
I had such a blast on those live posts yesterday, too -- I really hope we get a live feed for Nikolaos's and Tatiana's wedding so we can have another post party!
P.S. -- I just tallied up the results of the hattery guessing poll, and it's a tie -- Maggie and Eliza both guessed six right! Congrats, ladies!
I tied for the win? Oh, thank, thank you very much
But, Ella, really. You deserve some sort of award for this. I mean, really this was truly incredible! I loved hangin' out in my pjs wth all of you on the blog. That wedding was so romantic.
My favourite part was probably either Carina and Mary, Daniel's speech or seeing Mads and Vicky laughing through out the whole evening!
She is so beautiful! Thanks tons Ella for all your hard work. What a perfect birthday gift to me!
WOW! I simply can not comment on each post. All I can say is, "That's a lot of bling!"
Hip Hip Hoorah to Ella for this truly stupendous effort. Well done.
Ella, thank you so much for all the wedding fun, even if I only lurked instead of joining in. Somehow life decided I would enjoy the wedding better if I had a horrible cold, so I didn't feel up to keeping up with a live blog. Looks like you guys had a blast!
This was easily the most romantic wedding I've ever seen - even surpassing ones I've attended! I was also a little worried that it would turn out that Daniel was only in it for the title, and poor Vic would end up with her heart broken, but those two are so in love with each other that I quickly changed my opinion of him. That he had to wipe away tears after exchanging the rings was so sweet. (And his speech goes down as one of the greatest wedding speeches I've ever heard.)
God bless Victoria and Daniel, and I wish them the best this world has to offer.
Ella, you need a damehood!!! I say we all start writing letter to Buckingham Palace and get a campaign. Smashing job, history lesson, geography lesson, and most importantly a gorgeous fix for us tiaraholics. What a wedding!
High-5 Eliza! Wow, I can't believe that - I got Mary, Maxima & Mette-Marit wrong, so I thought I was out of the running!
Hi Ella - my first post here! I have been a frequent visitor, especially in the run up to Ascot as I needed inspiration for my own hats. And I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed this site, especially your wedding coverage. I'm so impressed that you have been able to identify the tiaras! Your work is very much appreciated.
Fabulous! I gorged on an orgy of tiara porn on Saturday and loved every minute - and was a hoot posting with you guys on here too. I think we should all save up and get Ella a tiara to show our appreciation!
The wedding was wonderful - so personal and meaningful - and those Swedes really know how to put on a big do, I love how it was as much for all the people spectating, and Victoria spoke to the crowd - just excellent.
I finally managed to watch the wedding after the dinner was over and totally understand all the WTH!?OMG?!LAWLZZZZING!? Those dancers were hilarious as well as Henrik, Carina, and Mary.
This wedding simply blew me away. The swedes really know how to plan a wedding, don't they! My favourite part of the wedding was definitely Prince Daniel's speech. Every single time i (re)watch it I never fail to tear up. I wish the couple a lifetime of love and happiness.
And Ella! Thank you, thank you, thank you for compiling all the Hattery flashbacks and giving me something to look forward to every week.
For the past 6 weeks the first website i'd always surf without fail was yours.
You definitely need some well-deserved rest after all these!
Just a question though, will you be doing more Hattery Flashbacks? (for the weddings of the current Kings and Queens or for other Princely weddings
)
I have a Q about the broadcast: several posters have said that they heard some of the participants speak (CP and Margarits, by way of example). When was this? Having no sound on my computer it could have occurred and I would never have known, but I find it curious. They wouldn;t put mikes on the tables, would they?
Bravo, Ella, bravo! Simply amazing is all I can say. You worked so hard putting together and presenting this for all of us. You must have a team of people helping you!
Victoria and Daniel's big day did not disappoint. It was so royal, so beautiful and so deeply tender watching them interact together. It almost makes me wish we had a monarchy in the USA.
@Annie: LOL, I wish! Except if I had a staff, I'd get jealous that I didn't get to comment on all the tiaras myself, so that probably wouldn't go over well anyway!
TOM!!!! Tom's back everyone! Yay! Your secret's out by the way - was this you, behind Daniel at the wedding banquet? Good disguise, but the hat gave it away!

HAHA!! Damn it, you guys have discovered my secret identity. In between plotting to steal Mary of Denmark for myself and stalking Elizabeth II, I moonlight as fantastically plumed flunky in the Swedish royal court. I should have know that my secret would one day be found out, and that it would have been a member of this eagle-eyed rabble who discovered me.
Ha, in all seriousness, however, I could only hope to be involved in such a wonderful royal occassion such as this, let alone to have half a peacock stuck on my head like our friend in the video. I'm also incredibly touched that you noticed my sudden disappearance (*wipes away a tear*).
And Ella, I must applaud you once again for doing a sterling job. You have truly outdone yourself, and it's such a pleasure to come here and have a fix of mad hattery and fabulous tiaras. Long may you reign!
We KNEW it was you, Tom!
I'm available for all future royal wedding espionage missions.
Coming late to the party was The Daily Telegraph, with an article today (07/07!!)about the fab fashions at the wedding - singling out Infanta Elena for particular praise! You can read the article here. You'll need to scroll down for the bit about the wedding guests.
