The Crown Princess of Sweden's Wedding: HRH Princess Claire of Belgium
It's a banner day in the tiara world, hatters -- a Belgian royal got a new tiara! And, even more shocking, it wasn't Paola or Mathilde, but Princess Claire!
At first, when I saw this on TV, I thought it was her wedding tiara, but on closer inspection, it's clearly a different piece. The Belgians don't have extensive jewel archives -- a case of too many daughters getting tiara inheritances and marrying into other royal families and of a former sort-of queen who sold off family treasures -- so it seems unlikely that this is an heirloom piece.
Maybe Laurent purchased it for her? Until we know any more about it, I'll just call it Claire's Diamond and Pearl Tiara.

When doesn't Claire look fantastic? I love this red dress, so striking. Very interesting to see her in a new tiara - and it's a very good one too. It's not too flashy, but still substantial.

This wedding was one treat after another, I was never expecting a new piece from the Belgians. Thanks Princess Claire, I quite like it too.
Prince Laurent looks like he has lost a lot of weight. Princess Claire looks wonderful. I think she, Princess Mathilde and Queen Sofia were the best dressed non-Swedish ladies there.
Love Claire's whole look - the dress is movie star glamorous, and the tiara is fabulous, really deco and swish. And a newbie too - she's got one more than Mathilde now!
The other day I came across a picture of Princess Astrid and Princess Margaretha of Luxemburg as young girls. And clearly Princess Margaretha wore this tiara, that Claire seems to own now.
Maybe it was put up for auction with several other pieces from grandduchess Charlotte, but then sold privately to Claire?
