We've got another brand-new tiara for the blog on Princess Laurentien's crown here: this is Queen Emma's Diamond Tiara, one of Beatrix's absolute favorites. It was made for -- surprise, surprise -- Queen Emma in the late 19th century, and can be worn as an all-diamond piece or, as Laurentien has it here, with a single ruby in the center.
Not a fan of the lone ruby, myself, though -- it sort of makes the tiara look like it has a pimple. And that's never good!
But it does coordinate with the dress -- full-length shot below...

Princess Laurentien and Prince Constantijn

Laurentin looks like she raided my grandma's closet (in the 1970s) grabbed one of Grandma's "house dresses," found a red sash, thought "if I wear this, I can wear red shoes!" and then totally forgot to look in the mirror. Hideous. Gorgeous tiara though!
The orange sash wrecks the outfit, which is a shame because I think she'd have look great without it. And she doesn't have tiara hair - but she does her best with Queen Emma, and considering how badly she sometimes does I'm calling this a win!
Aww, this tiara was my bet for Beatrix! Tsk tsk.
The dress would have been okay if it didn't have the orange sash.
Not a fan of the ruby either and I just dont like this Tiara on Laurentine. Its a dream on Cake but its not for her.
I agree with Maggie that she doesn't have tiara hair. She looks like she is a tennis pro who just stepped off the court, not a princess. I might be easy to care for day-to-day, but she needs a stylist to help her out on these big ocassions. Maybe she and the Princess Royal can hire one full time and split the cost.
Yeah 0 the tiara is fab, but shorter hair tends not to look so good with tiaras. Her 80's feather cut just isn't quite right.
I like the dress, but the waist sash and the shoulder sash fight. She needed to lose the red sash - it looks like she's been slashed. Almost there...
She seems to have a light-hearted approach to being a princess, and seems to be enjoying herself.
