Christening of Ms Nieuw Amsterdam IV: HRH Princess Máxima of The Netherlands

No other princess pulls off a massive hat quite as well as our dear Máx, don't you think?  She's got exactly the personality for it.  Here, she's in Venice, christening a new ocean liner for Holland Cruises:

Love it.  I think it would be even better with a bold ribbon and flower (maybe fuschia?  bright purple?).  Mette-Marit and Mary can pull off head-to-toe neutrals, but Máx needs color!

    It takes panache to wear such a big hat and Max has it in spades. Who needs an umbrella when you have this hat.

    Máxima looks simply amazing here. I love big hats and I love Máx, so the two together just made my day! I'm thinking a deep burgundy or (as Ella said) fuschia if there was to be an accent color.

    This is the perfect ship-launching hat - it has a real 'golden era' look about it. That is one royal job I would really enjoy - must be such fun!

    Wow that's a big hat there. I think it's perhaps a but too large? Colour would be good, but I think I like it!
