Old timey farmer on top ... Sgt. Pepper on bottom?  Take that brim down a notch, Liz!

(I just know we've seen this hat before, quite possibly even since the blog began, but it's been a long day.  Scavenger hunt challenge for you lovely readers?)

Stop the presses, hatters: I think we may have a new (to the blog, anyway) hat here on HM!  I've scoured the archives and come up empty.  Overall, I think I like it.  The ribbon embellishment is a little floaty, but since it's the same color as the hat itself, I don't think it's too frou-frou -- and I like the little bit o' bling on it, too.

What's your verdict?  Repeat or retire?

Wow, here's a blast from the past - we haven't seen the strawberry swirl pink hat since one of HM's garden parties in the summer of '09!  Soft serve, anyone?

Seems the hattery for this trip is primarily Garden Party Redux -- this little topper most recently made an appearance at one of the garden parties held this July.  Still don't mind the hat, but I do mind the print of this dress -- I don't know why, but when HM wears a printed dress like this, it somehow drifts into "clearance rack" territory for me.

It's Summer Garden Party Sam the Eagle come to roost again, hatters!  Still quite like this one -- it's an experimental shape that works on HM (unlike the double-decker mishaps we've seen of late).

Phil, Lil, and Randy Andy are on a state visit to the Middle East this week -- first stop, the Sheikh Zayed Mosque.  And HM has dressed according to religious conventions:

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that she needed to cover her head to be respectful while entering the mosque, but doesn't this look like what Jacob Marley would wear in a Las Vegas production of A Christmas Carol?  Got to keep that jaw bone hiked up properly!

(Also, there is clearly fondant on that hat.  I'm just saying.  Do you think she went to a cake tasting session with Wills and Kate and got inspired?)

This looks like -- dare I say it? -- an upside-down cake!  (Whether or not there are any pineapples involved, I don't know.)  An interesting triangular shape, really -- there's something vaguely African-inspired by the whole look, isn't there?  Or Star Trek...

I know, Camilla, I'm shocked, too -- shocked that you would wear yet another frequent repeat after our conversation earlier!  And it's the (slightly fancier than regular Paddington) Bride of Paddington hat!

Okay, that picture of Cams caught mid-sneeze or laugh or something is a little mean -- here's a better shot of her at the Desert Rats 7th Armoured Division reunion:

Man, the polka-dot blouse/scarf business is reappearing here, too!  Maybe this is Camilla's "Kate can be the fashion plate now, so I don't have to give a flying leap anymore" liberation moment?  Sigh.  Whatever it is, it's both typical and slightly disappointing.  You're still a lovely gal, ma'am -- rachet up the glam!

How fortuitous that HM wore a hat I'd rather ignore (Peach Fuzz, hmph) to Westminster Abbey on a day I'm thinking a lot about that particular church!  Peach Fuzz is a lot less offensive when I'm paying much more attention to amazing views like this one...

... to get myself psyched up for the royal wedding that will take place here on April 29th!  I knew the Abbey was the best choice for the big day -- so exciting!  I mean, how beautiful will Kate's wedding dress look in these surroundings?

Only about a hundred and fifty days to go!  I've updated the royal wedding countdown clock accordingly.  Hooray!

It's been so long since we've seen Vic in a proper hat that it almost looks strange, doesn't it?  There's something about this that doesn't work for me -- maybe this hat with a heavier coat or jacket?  Or with a little more embellishment?  Or -- maybe this is it -- a more visible hairstyle?  It is almost heading into Margrethe baldy territory!
