All right, hatters, you know what time it is! Drumroll, please!

That's right -- slap on your black-tie attire, pour yourself a glass o'champers, and settle in for the Mad Hattery Awards of 2010! (No, seriously, hurry up -- King CG is clearly waiting on you!)
We've moved the festivities inland from last year's cruise-ship do, but that just means more room for all of us and the maddest hatters of the year! So, without further adieu, let's get the party started!
And the winners are...

Maybe it's just because I've been watching too much of the new Upstairs Downstairs lately, but I'm really digging Sonja's '30s-inspired style here. Love the tight-fitting cloche, and I'm even sort of okay with the furry coat. Looks warm and chic!

Hey, Leah? I know you're not actually a princess, but is there any way you could still pop by lots of royal events in future? Because any little girl who says, "Fine, Mom, I'll wear the same hat, coat, and purse as my big sister, but only if I can wear my TUTU to church and scowl at the photographers!" is truly a Mad Hatter in the making -- I can feel it!
If you could just team up with our favorite Danish guest correspondent for future antics, I'd be much obliged!

Aw, little Maud Behn looks adorable in her winter hat, doesn't she? Perfectly suited for a chilly Scandinavian morning, and cute to boot! (Love the purse, Maudie!)

Hunky Haakon and his fam may have been off globe-trotting on this Christmas, but the Behn gang was out in full-force in the frigid Norwegian weather to celebrate with the king and queen! Here's the always-interesting Märtha Louise, in a hat that would seem a little young on most women with three children. But I don't know, somehow she's just whimsical enough that it works for her.
The coat, however...

I have been cracking up since I loaded the first photo of Lil's Christmas hat this morning -- holy moly. What the heck is this? It's not just fur, but blonde fur ... and it somehow looks like if you pulled on the front of it, it might all come apart!
Oh, HM, I do love you to bits, but this just isn't doing it for me. I was hoping for something in scarlet, and instead there's an animal curled up on your royal crown.
And on that note -- I'm headed to gorge myself silly at Christmas lunch. Hope you're all having the merriest of holidays!

Well, clearly it's the Christmas of the oversized furry hat, isn't it? Between Camilla and Henrik, I think we could almost reconstruct an animal. (And just wait until you see the last hat I've got in the hopper from Sandringham today...)
You know, I really almost like this. It's just as it usually is with Camilla -- there's just too much stuff going on. Imagine the hat with a solid-colored coat, sans Camilla's trusty plaid scarf ... chic, non?
And, ugh, don't even get me started on the polka dots. I think we need to send a petition to Clarence House to MAKE THE POLKA DOTS STOP. Who's with me?

Well, kids, this year we've got no Anne and Tim, no Zara and Mike, no Peter and Autumn (understandably), no William and Kate, no Linleys, and no Chattos ... but we've got Sophie Wessex! And even though I'm sort of afraid she might break into a rendition of "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" at any moment, I think I actually like this one. (And excellent hattery hair -- thumbs up for that kicky little flip.)

In general, I'm quite happy with the sophisticated hattery journey that our favorite red-headed Yorkie has been embarking on, but Bea, really: did you steal this from Empress Michiko? Is that why she wasn't wearing a hat during this year's birthday celebrations for the Emperor?

We're a little light on royal hatters for this year's Sandringham Christmas Hat Pageant, but when we've got two Yorkies, who can really complain? Let's start with Eugenie, shall we?
Here's how Eug could fix this hat: lose the feathers, clearly leftover from this year's shooting; lose the pin, and put it on the collar of her coat instead; and change the hat shape to anything other than my perennial-unfavorite, the women's fedora. This looks like a costumey mess, Your Royal Highness! And it doesn't even come close to matching your coat! (Or your scarf -- is that rabbit???)
