Lovely reader Eliza tracked down a photo of Princess Christina at this year's King's Dinner for us -- thanks, Eliza! ![]()
Christina's wearing a dress that probably looks familiar -- it's the same one she wore to Vic 'n Dan's wedding back in June. But, instead of the Diamond Six Button, Christina chose to wear the same tiara (Queen Sophie's Diamond and Pearl Tiara) that she wore to the previous night's Nobel Ceremony again -- the same tiara two nights in a row?!?! Dare I say that I'd almost have preferred to see the Six Button Jeep out and about again instead???

I love this magenta color on Christina, but wish she wore a bigger tiara that really stands out. It gets lost in her hair, and is more suited for a younger princess, I think.
I agree, Patricia, something bigger would be nicer, and perhaps with some coloured stones to stand out against the grey of her hair. The dress is lovely, though; perhaps rubies would have been a good choice to match?
I can't reacall ever seeing Christina with the amethyst tiara? Wearing that as a bejewelled headband with her large silver hair popping up behind it, might have been what the doctor ordered.
You're right, Sir Tom, a colored parure would have been gorgeous against the vibrant tones of her dress. She's obviously not afraid to wear color and it would have been wonderful to have seen the same in her choice of jewels.
She does have terrific hair - but it's not great for tiara spotting. The Jeep was built for her head.
(No wonder journos get confused. The Jeep? Sam the Eagle? The Cake? Paddington and The Bride of Paddington? They must think it's some secret society!!)
@maggie- haha, I never realized how many little sayings we have on the blog
I really like the dress- jewel tones look great on Christina and her niece.
I can't believe I didn't recognize that tiara when I sent you the email! You'd just posted it! Memory loss?
I think that this is the first and last time I'll ever say this, but the six light Jeep would have looked much better on her.
Love the color, but feeling a little "meh" about the gown itself (maybe because, as a woman of a certain age, I wouldn't have the courage to wear it!)
But, oh, I do covet the shawl...
I'm with the majority here, in that I would have liked to see her wear a bigger, blingier tiara; that little thing is lost in her silver hair. I will say, though, that she has lovely hair, and it's styled well for a tiara.
I love the color of the dress--not something I would have expected, but she wears it well. I'm a bit surprised that the dress is sleeveless, and hope she didn't spend all night fussing with her shawl. No offense to Christina--or any lady in her age group--but let's face it, women of that age are often sensitive about their upper arms.
Agree, agree! I do like the warm wine red on her, but dare I say that tiara is a bit...wimpy? Would love a better look at the necklace!
Unfortunately I couldn't find a picture of the necklace from the King's Dinner, but here's a nice view of the tiara. Maybe some jewelery experts could get the lowdown on the necklace?
Princess Christina is a lovely older woman. She's living proof that after a certain age, getting too thin is aging (Princess Birgetta - cough). It also looks like she hasn't been a sun worshipper or chain smoker either. She really is beautiful and the color looks so good on her.
