Prince William's Wedding: HRH The Princess of Asturias

It's a first, everyone -- Letizia in a proper hat, not just a mantilla or a tiara! (As if a tiara could ever be just a tiara, but anyway, I digress.)
I love this cloche shape on her, and I don't mind the soft ballet pink. The netting gives interest, and if she'd just taken the feathers off of the back...

...it would have my unabashed vote for a "best hat" option.

First off, how adorable and beautiful is our Leti!? Second, I would totally love that Hat at another event. I feel this required something else, but the cloche style works really well on her and I hope to see it again. Leti and the 1920's seem like they could be very good friends.
So perfect for her - it's a hattery match made in heaven. Perfect colour, terrific shape, the feathers are a bit extraneous but lets face it, she doesn't hat often so I'm just grateful for anything!
Now I honestly thought that she'd sneekd into Clarence House and raided the Queen Mum's old hat boxes when I saw this. It's lovely and suits her so well, but it doesn't say 'wedding' to me. When you've got the likes of Beatrice, Eugenie and Zara, this just fades away into the background.
For once in recent times, PL didn't look so unnaturally skinny. The dress covered this up and she looked quite good. The color is sensational on her, really pretty but probably too ladylike for some tastes. I thought it was perfect for a church wedding.
Leti looks so darned good that I'm not saying a word against this outfit. She's channeling her inner flapper girl and she looks glamorous. The color may be a tad too pale, but I love the detailing on the dress and the flare of the hem. I even like the feather with the flower on the hat, even though some might think it's overkill. Her hair is soft and curling, perfect for the overall look of a petite china doll.
This is one of my favorite hatters from this wedding. Love the pleated detail on her dress and the color is very flattering on her.
This is terrible. It's WAAAY too big and it's falling down her face. The stuff on the back is ugly, too.
There. I said it.
She was my favorite, by a landslide, I loved everything about her, from the hat to the gloves to the shoes.
@ nancy: check out this pic (http://myroyal-myroyals.blogspot.com/2011/04/wedding-celebration-of-prince-william.html) - might change your mind. I swear I want to send her a muffin basket.
But the hat is fab.
This hat does not flatter Letizia at all and the ornamentations at the back look silly and mismatched.
@kiri anne. PL in the gray strapless gown at the pre-wedding dinner looks almost emaciated. I am glad she covered up for the wedding. Thanks for the link to those photos. CP victoria looks absolutely smashing.
For PL, I propose an intervention--- by us.
I totally agree with what Eliza said.
I like me some 1920s look and this looks lovely on Letizia.
@ Kiri Anne, thanks for the link to the pre-wedding ball.
I see what you mean about emaciated. I think it's what Guy Ritchie described as "a piece of gristle". LOL
However, her wedding day outfit was one of the best. I loved the nod to the Edwardian era. Very classy.
The hat, which suited her perfectly, is by Pabloy Y Mayaya. See his collection at his website: http://www.pabloymayaya.com/ (Spanish language only, although pictures are a universal language).
