So it turns out that the pearl additions to Mary's Wedding Tiara weren't permanent, hm? Not sure whether I'm glad they were removed or disappointed that we're back to Tiara Square One!

Who'd notice the tiara when you are blinded by all that fuschia. Looks wonderful on her though! And that body after giving birth to twins only months ago - I want the name of her trainer!
i like it...and i'm glad they paired her with a partner who wore a matching sash...
Ok, the sash. Is it part of her actual dress? Or is she wearing her "order sash" around her waist like a belt? If she is....BRAVO! How clever, unique....different special and FUN! If it is actually part of her dress I might be disappointed.
I agree with Brian, I love that Phillippe's sash matched her dress!
And I have to say, normally I hate this rinky dink tiara, but it actually looks good here!
I think the tiara looks particularly lovely because it isn't competing with a trunkload of "stuff". Overall--see my remarks on Maxima--this ensemble is subtly elegant. I can hear you all groaning "...subtle? that fuschia?" but the color is extremely flattering to Mary and is the only intense element. The simple cut of the dress and the restrained amount of bling allow a viewer's eyes to rest on the CP and not dart every which way. Contrast this with the Duchess of Castro preceding!
I've always thought Mary should wear more intense colors instead of the neutrals she is prone to wear. With her coloring, this fuschia looks good on her, although I think she is a bit too matchy-matchy with the Duke of Brabant.
I'm so glad Mary's not afraid of strong jewel colors and being a brunette, she can carry this palette off without being overwhelmed by it. The dress has a clean, simple line that doesn't compete with the intense color. The tiara looks wonderful as well, though I wouldn't have minded if she broke out the ruby one but maybe it would have been too ornate. I guess she also wanted to wear her wedding tiara for the occasion.
Can anyone confirm if CP Mary is wearing her "order sash" as a belt? Or if that is actually part of her dress. SHe is getting raked over the coals in the press for wearing contrasting colors, but I really think it is her sash that she is cleverly wearing around her waist.
Sarahew88: Definitely not an order sash. 1) Wearing it that way would be a serious breach of protocol and 2) an order ribbon is much longer. The belt is a part of the dress, I imagine.
also Crown Princess Mary does not have the Order of Leopold, which Philippe wears in this photo...
Other than a little bit of boob squish, I think she looks AMAZING! Who would ever know she is the mother of 4?! WOW!
This would get an A+, were it not for the boob squish.
