State Visit from South Africa - State Banquet: HRH The Crown Princess of Norway

I know some of you are starting to experience Diamond Daisy Fatigue with Mette-Marit, but I'm really digging the way that MM positioned her tiara standby in her hair this go around, even with the center part.  And, ooh, those ruby earrings!

    I too love the way she wore it! To me this tiara is perfect for M-M's style and persona but it's all in where she wears it.

    I'm still not so convinced about setting the tiara so far back on her head. That said, I think she did look very beautiful otherwise.

    I love this - it looks almost like the worlds tiniest kokoshnik. The diamond daisy is such a brilliant piece. It really enhances rather than dominates her look. Ruby earring love also.

    I know we may see the daisy a lot, and she could do with another tiara, but this is stunning. Her make up is amazing, really striking, it could wash her out, but it accentuates her features. Don't forget that the tiara would sparkle in the flesh too. She ;looks really beautiful.

    I love the chignon and am so glad M-M finally pulled her hair away from her lovely face. I'm not convinced about balancing that tiny tiara on the back of the head and wish she had a larger one; can't understand why there isn't another tiara in her repertoire. But the ruby earrings are a dramatic splash of color and coordinate so well with her sash. I hope she continues with this more sophisticated and regal look.

    @maggie-I thought the same thing, especially as the way the photos open on my computer, all I could see was from the ruffles up-so first impression was very "Slavic Princess playing dairymaid" ish. I think MM often over-ruffles.

    I love the hair, adore the earrings-the tiara looks a little lost and out of scale, but as @JamesB says, it would sparkle in real life. I would love to see her in the amethysts that Marthe Louise wore to Victoria's wedding-colored stones against her hair would be stunning.

    She looks gorgeous here, very Nordic, very ice queen. Lovely. And rubies aren't so often worn, by anyone. I find them a difficult colour (heh).

    Now normally, I would be playing hell fire about the arrangement of this, but I actually lobe it here. But, another tiara would be nice. Can't wait to see her in the emeralds one day.
    And those rubies are fabulous. They finish off a really sophisticated look.

    I agree with al who said beautiful and gorgous. I am starting to think that because MM wears her hair so simply, she opts for ruffles. Ruffles instead of curls, maybe that's her mission. She looks fabulous and I am glad to see her lovely smile after a very difficult time. I am starting to think she and H are ready for the top jobs. I don't suppose H and S will retire. That isn't the tradition in Norway is it?

    She looks good, though a bit too severe with everything pulled back so tightly. Would love to see the jewels a little more forward. Her MIL had the big emerald job, why couldn't MM have had something more dramatic with rubies to match the gorgeous ear bobs? Her best look in awhile with the summer color in her skin.

    Very pretty. I like the subdued make-up. MM has strong features and can carry off a severe hairstyle with aplomb.
