Danish Ruby Jubilee - Gala Banquet: HM Queen Anne-Marie of Greece

No Greek rubies tonight -- instead, it's the imposing Emerald Parure Tiara.  I mean, I guess you can't go wrong with emeralds this size ... I was just hoping for rubies!

    Although this is a beautiful tiara, I'm not a fan of cabochons since they don't catch and reflect the light as much as the cut stones. And I feel that the emerald pendant would have looked better worn as a brooch; to me, it's too large and bulky as a dangling piece from a necklace. But these are gorgeous jewels and Anne-Marie wears them well.
