Rounding out tonight's gala coverage with the woman of the hour in the Pearl Poiré Tiara, one of her favorites. Really you can't go wrong with this one.
Also: have you all seen that Daisy is indeed getting a new jubilee tiara? It's not rubies (sad!), but a new diadem made from a golden floral ornament given to her by the people of Greenland. (You can see a photo here at RJWMB.) Can't wait to see it!

Hats (and Tiara's) off to Queen Daisy on her milestone, and to the Danes for producing a nearly flawless weekend to celebrate it! -- with hats and tiaras galore!
For those of you who'd enjoy a look at The Queen's transformation over the years, the Royal Website opens with a rather brilliant slideshow.

Here's hoping the Brits will produce an equally wonderful Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth's upcoming 60th!
OMG, looks like a SECOND Golden Poppies tiara is in the making! where will this floral mania end? clearly, one can never have too many nature-themed hair ornaments. That Queen Daisy is incorrigible. Still, I will probably prefer the Greenland tiara to the Pearl Poire( which always sounds like a dessert)and which so often has the pearls hanging crookedly/out of sight(see pic above) unless it is worn on the level.
And,love the arrangement of the collars/chains and the orders across Margrethe's bodice - very stylish indeed!
At first glance, it did looks like some of the pearls are missing from the arches in the tiara. It is a beautiful tiara, though, and reminds me of Queen Elizabeth's Vladimir tiara with the pearls. Also, an impressive array of walnut-sized pearls around her neck. I'm sure with Daisy's hand involved in the creation of her new tiara, and since more flowers are involved, we'll be seeing a very creative tiara adorning her head. Congratulations to the Queen on her Ruby Jubilee.
She looks so radiant. What a collection of gongs and orders and pearls. What a glamorous evening over all.
Mr Fitzroy, thanks so much for that slide show. My, but she has been just what one wants in a queen, hasn't she? Regal and very Elizabeth I for the official portraits, and yet quite genuine in the "people-to-people" photos too (one that's quite Twiggy-ish even). The latter style is something that QEII doesn't do so well, perhaps because she's not so naturally outgoing.
Long live Queen Margarethe!
Just spent way too much time in Tiara-pedia trying to identify the tiara Margarethe is wearing in this photo:

I don't think it is the floral tiara that Marie wears, nor do I think it is the Floral Aigrette in one of its forms-but I love it. So what is it? Ella???
Never mind-its the emerald parure. When I zoomed, suddenly there were emeralds!
Megs is the epitome of a modern day monarch. Regal stature, style and sophistication all at the right time. No one does it better.
