Danish Ruby Jubilee - Gala Performance: HRH The Crown Princess of Denmark

Surely the ruby parure is on reserve for tomorrow night -- but I really, really wish we'd seen Mary in the Midnight Tiara with this gown rather than in her wedding tiara.  I know my feelings on this piece are well-documented, but really, it's just not a tiara for a crown princess, is it?

    I have to agree about this tiara: it's too spindly, small and sparse and while I'd never turn my nose up at a tiara, this needs to be more substantial. And after seeing the ruby tiara on her head, this pales in comparison.

    I don't understand the negative movement concerning this tiara. It's small - as are other tiaras - but it's graceful, delicate and beautiful. And it's her own. What's to dislike so much??

    I so wish Mary had a tiara that was a bit more...crown princessly!
