One's Diamond Jubilee looks to be off to a smashing start!
One's wearing a lovely blue hat (that fits!) and an interesting but restrained flower. Marvelous! Shame about the floral dress under the coat, but one's can't have everything, can one?
And one's family came along to support one on one's first of many special days!
Cousin Birgitte came in a smashing beret, teamed with one of Diana's old hairstyles...
One's favorite daughter-in-law came in one of her usual flying saucers -- one had to call the Royal Observatory at Greenwich between races to make sure nobody feared that extraterrestrials had crashed one's Jubilee party!
Dear Beatrice came as, well, one's favorite daughter-in-law, Sophie. One has told and told one's granddaughters to wait until 35 to attempt the Jackie O, but do they listen to one? Apparently not! One hopes that perhaps Bea will try one of Sophie's saucers next time and retire the pillbox until after she marries one's likely future grandson-in-law Smiley DAVE.
Darling Eugenie chose the day to wear perhaps her most flattering chapeau yet -- one was so honored! (Honoured?) One does love a beret, especially when it's younged-up with some lovely stripes. And even better, Eug has promised to paint Union Jacks on one's fingernails ahead of tomorrow's big boat extravaganza! Hooray!
And, as per usual, Princess Michael decided to come as Zsa-Zsa Gabor, this time jazzed up with a bit of floral undergrowth. Must have been rather inspired at Chelsea. One does live in continual hope that Marie-Christine will switch it up, however. Maybe a little Carmen Miranda on the boat tomorrow?
That's it for one's day at the Derby, hatters! Stay tuned -- one has some cracking millinery stored up for the next few happy and glorious days! God save one!
