Hop on the holiday train, hatters! It's Ladies' Day!
And in honor of the most holy of Hat Christmas days, we've got nine dancing (or at least hatting) ladies for the blog!
Lady #1: The Queen in green, looking rather minty fresh for the occasion. Patricia Treble from Macleans and I were taking informal wagers over HM's Ladies' Day hat color the other day, and we were both wrong. She went for purple, I went for red (and, as you'll see in a bit, I was sort of half right) -- neither of us went for Colgate Toothpaste!
Lady #2: Carole, Queen of the Middletons, looking rather resplendent and somehow like an old-timey naval officer in her red chapeau. See, half right! Right color, wrong Big Cheese, that's all. (Also, NO KATE AGAIN. Will we ever get Mrs. Cambridge at Ascot??? As if celebrating her husband/future king's 30th birthday is THAT important. Pssssh.)
Lady #3: Princess Bea, in more red (!) and yet another weird flat beret with overgrowth. Please, Hattery Gods, please, for the love of fascinators, please don't let weird flat berets become A Thing!
Lady #4: Princess Eug, going for bin-liner chic in this -- well, in whatever it is.
Lady #5: Princess Anne, totally living up to my usual expectations for Princess Royal hattery at Ascot. THE STREAK IS OVER. Goodbye, shockingly attractive hats; hello (again), weird purple royal wedding extravaganza!
Lady #6: Lady Wessex, looking lovely for a second day running! Ahoy, Yorkies: this is the kind of hat you should be wearing, too!
Lady #7: ZSA-ZSA KENT, looking magnificently Zsa-Zsa in Sophie's hat from yesterday, bleached and then embellished with a passel of hot-glued black floral undergrowth. LADIES' DAY, DAHLING.
Lady #8: La Sheikha of Dubai, looking FAB in hot pink and orange. THIS is Ladies' Day hattery! Look how glowy she is!
And finally, Lady # -- oh, wait. Oops. Actually, make that Eight Ladies Hatting. Well, here, have a dapper top-hatted duke instead. On the house, just for all of you!
