Armistice Day: HM The Queen

HM wore this lovely purple chapeau to Westminster Abbey today to mark both Armistice Day and the passing away of the generation of veterans who served in World War I.
I love this hat — you all knew I would, it’s purple! It’s a lovely shape, it’s vivid and bright, and the black flower and thin band contrast nicely. I’m still a little on the fence about the fedora shaping that seems to be a trend with the crowns of hats like this lately, but I love all the rest of it so much that I don’t even mind it here.
Gorgeous. Just lovely!
I absolutely love purple too; however, this style doesn’t do it for me. It kinda reminds me of a hat Huggy Bear would have worn. Perhaps the style of hat would flatter a younger head? Just my humble opinion because Lord knows I am no fashionista!
Love the whole package. She looks great.
I honestly am not a fan of the fedora shaped crowns either, but I thought HM looked great in this brilliant shade of purple, which wasn’t too overbearing for such a somber occasion.
Love it.
Love, love, love, love it! The Queen can really pull of vibrant colours!
All I can say is Fabulous!!
OMG I love this. Youthful, modern, funky, appropriate, whimsical and on trend. Perhaps my favourite ever of hers. The funkiest 83 year old in town!
She looks great in this colour – she’s really having a very good 80s. In her middle age she didn’t look like she was going to age well, but she looks fabulous now.
Spot on Maggie – she has really turned back the clock, and now looks better than she has done since about 1975 I reckon. I love the fact she has come into her own so much. This outfit – and so much of what she has work lately – ROCKS!
This is a good shape and a good color. She looks terrific, head to toe.
