Another Tiara Alert from the banquet dinner at Christiansborg Palace … and, ooh, it’s one we’ve not seen before here on the blog! Princess Benedikte is wearing Queen Ingrid’s Star and Pearl Tiara, an inheritance from her mother.
The Star and Pearl reportedly traveled to Denmark with Ingrid from Sweden; Ingrid was born a princess of Sweden in 1910, and she married the future Frederik IX of Denmark in 1935. Almost all of the tiaras you see adorning the heads of the lovely Danish ladies these days were once worn by Ingrid. Thanks for leaving all of us such a sparkly legacy to look at, Ingrid!

It’s almost lost behind the BIG HAIR!!
It’s nice and all, but I agree maggie – you can’t really see it behind her hair!
Slightly reminds me of good old Queen Beatirx of the Netherlands here. The tiara does appear a bit lost in this barnet. But I do like this piece very much.
I agree with SirTom that the tiara is rather lost in that huge hair. And what was she thinking with that necklace – completely wrong with the neckline of her dress. I think she may need to get her colours done as the lipstick is too harsh a red for her complexion.
Ditto to all that. All good separately but its all kinda fighting with itself.
Not a fan of the way the teardrop pearls are standing up, they look upside down. Is this possibly one of those tiaras that could be worn as a necklace (presumably with the pearls “dripping” downward)?
