Hooray for structured berets and tamed hair!  Marie's really getting the knack of this princess hattery business, isn't she?  We've seen this one before, but I love it here with the braid.

Also: congratulations are in order, of course!  A fourth barn is on its way to Schackenborg!  There must be something in the Scandinavian waters of late, huh?

It's finally happened, hatters -- after so many near misses, Princess Marie has finally reached the upper echelons of hattery greatness.  There is literally not one thing I dislike about this look!  The hat is the perfect size, worn at the perfect angle; the hair is to die for; and the color combo of the cool gray and the warm brown of her hair is amazing.

Bravo, Marie -- the hattery world is your oyster!

Princess Marie's hattery is improving by leaps and bounds, isn't it?  This one's got so many good things going for it -- especially the gorgeous color and the flattering shape.  I don't even mind the gift-wrap bow stuck to the side.

But my kingdom for an updo!  I've figured out what gives me Debbie Gibson vibes when it comes to Marie's hattery -- it's the long-straight hair.  I'd love to see it up under the hat!

New Year's Day means the start of the New Year's Courts in Denmark!  First up: a Tiara Alert from Princess Marie...

No tiara surprises here: it's the Diamond Floral Tiara, the only tiara so far that Marie has access to.  This is the seventh (!) time she's worn it since I started including European royals on the blog -- surely that's a record!  (And surely it means that, Joachim, it's time to pony up for a new sparkler for your lovely bride!)

I love this dove gray color on Marie -- so pretty -- but I wonder if the asymmetrical neckline was the best choice for the occasion.  It's flattering and interesting, but it makes the Order of the Elephant collar look a little wonky!

That's right -- slap on your black-tie attire, pour yourself a glass o'champers, and settle in for the Mad Hattery Awards of 2010!  (No, seriously, hurry up -- King CG is clearly waiting on you!)

We've moved the festivities inland from last year's cruise-ship do, but that just means more room for all of us and the maddest hatters of the year!  So, without further adieu, let's get the party started!
