Danish Ruby Jubilee - Diplomatic Corps Dinner: HRH The Princess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg

No decent close-ups of Ben's tiara for tonight's dinner at Christiansborg, but it appears to be her Floral Birthday Tiara, a gift from her parents.  One of my favorites of the S-W-B tiaras!

First off, LOVE this dress -- the fit isn't 100% right, I don't think, but isn't it great?  It's bling in dress form!  Also love to see Queen Ingrid's Star and Pearl Tiara on Nathalie -- Nat strikes me as the quirkier and less conventional of Benedikte's daughters, and there are few tiaras quirkier than the Star & Pearl!

Carina looks absolutely fabulous tonight -- love the ruby red dress, and the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg Diamond Spike Tiara looks great positioned this way in her hair.  Thumbs way up!

The SWB Fringe Tiara is forever one of my favorites -- I was probably a bit too optimistic in my hopes for some tiara swapping tonight, with Ben in one of the Danish pieces and Carina in the SWB Fringe.  Actually, maybe there's a rule that says that only the current princess of SWB can wear the tiara -- nothing would surprise me when it comes to those sorts of issues.

Danish Ruby Jubilee - Gala Banquet: HSH Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg

Princess Alexandra brought out her mother's Floral Birthday Tiara, a legacy of Queen Alexandrine, for the night's festivities.  Love this one -- I love almost all of the tiaras made from old brooches and stomachers, actually.  Reduce, reuse, recycle. ;)

Today, the role of Princess Nathalie will be played by a Cossack soldier...

Now this is more like it -- elegant and slightly exaggerated shape, beautiful coordination with the coat ... if you have to be a non-princess princess (and for the record, I'm on Carina and Gustav's side on that question), this is how you should do it!

Another thumbs up from me for a Benedikte hat.  The coat, on the other hand...

Looks like we've got a fairly standard headband/fascinator here from Alexandra -- but that kind of low-key hattery does seem to be her style.  Her husband is awfully surprised to see us, though, isn't he?  Hola, Jefferson! ;)

Carina's in her usual tiara for the concert -- the one I call the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg Diamond Spike Tiara -- and, as per usual, it's okay.  I do wonder, though, if we'll ever see Benedikte loaning her not-quite-daughter-in-law some of the other tiaras from the SWB collection (namely the gorgeous diamond fringe).
