No decent close-ups of Ben's tiara for tonight's dinner at Christiansborg, but it appears to be her Floral Birthday Tiara, a gift from her parents.  One of my favorites of the S-W-B tiaras!

The SWB Fringe Tiara is forever one of my favorites -- I was probably a bit too optimistic in my hopes for some tiara swapping tonight, with Ben in one of the Danish pieces and Carina in the SWB Fringe.  Actually, maybe there's a rule that says that only the current princess of SWB can wear the tiara -- nothing would surprise me when it comes to those sorts of issues.

Another thumbs up from me for a Benedikte hat.  The coat, on the other hand...

I really like that Ben's embracing a more tailored style for her winter hats this year -- fewer Koosh ball explosions, more elegant lines and angles.  Not sure I love the hat with this fur, but that's trifling really.

(Also, behind Benedikte we've got our best look at her daughters at today's event -- that's Nathalie in the, um, interesting pink hat and Alexandra in what looks to be a more traditional gray.)

It's springtime, which means it's also time for Benedikte to break out the beach hat!  I seriously always expect her to unfold a lawn chair and start sipping a mai tai when she dons this straw topper...

We've moved the festivities inland from last year's cruise-ship do, but that just means more room for all of us and the maddest hatters of the year!  So, without further adieu, let's get the party started!
