Thanks to all the lovely hatters who sent this along -- it's Birgitte!  I could have sworn I remembered seeing Birgitte in this slightly-unflattering blue pillbox before, but for some reason, I can't find it anywhere!  Help!  Is this hat overload?

Regardless: I've decided that I wish there was an "everybody has to buy a new hat" requirement for balcony admittance on Trooping the Colour day..

Also here: Lady Nicholas, wearing a bucket, and Julia Ogilvy, wearing the same hat she wore to William and Kate's wedding.  But more importantly: Gary Lewis.  Oooh.

Trooping the Colour: Mrs. Julia Ogilvy

Oh, it really must be Hattery Christmas: we've been gifted with the presence of a royal who is brand-new to the blog!

No, not Camilla -- we'll get to her in a bit.  The woman on the left of the photo in the pale blue hat and coat is our newcomer: Julia Ogilvy.  She's married to James Ogilvy, son of HRH Princess Alexandra, The Hon. Lady Ogilvy.

Julia is not a frequent fixture out at royal events, but with the Kents and the Gloucesters out in force today, it's great to see her.  And the hat is perfect -- understated so you don't grab the spotlight that belongs to the (official) birthday girl, elegant, and lovely.  Well done, Julia, and welcome!
