Oh, Tessy -- you know this is ridiculous, I can see it on your face!  What happened?  Did it come apart on the car ride over?

Luxembourg National Day Parade: HRH Princess Tessy of Luxembourg

Here's a very new princess for our blog!  This is Princess Tessy of Luxembourg, wife of Henri and Maria Teresa's third son, Prince Louis.  Tessy, a former soldier, and Louis have charted a rather unconventional royal relationship -- they had their first son, Gabriel, six months before their wedding in 2006, at which Tessy was only 20 and Louis only 19.

Because of the rather unorthodox ordering of those events, the staunchly Catholic grand ducal family at first denied Tessy and her son titles.  Upon marrying Tessy, Louis also had to give up his claim to the throne.  But last year, after three years of marriage and the birth of a second son, Noah, Grand Duke Henri made her HRH Princess Tessy of Luxembourg, and gave her sons the titles HRH Prince Gabriel de Nassau and HRH Prince Noah de Nassau.  So today, along with being national day, also marks Tessy's one-year princess anniversary!

And she looks the hattery part, doesn't she?  Now this is the kind of wackiness that a young princess should sport!  I could do with a bit more color -- head-to-toe black's a bit mature on such a young person, especially at a joyful event, but the fascinator is totally Zara-Phillips-esque, and I love it!
