I like the Romanian royal family's Greek Key Tiara in general, but something about it isn't working for me here. Maybe it's a little too low on Margarita's head? Maybe it doesn't quite coordinate with the dress? Help me, hatters!

I like this on principle, but it's a little too big for the lovely Margarita's petite head, I think. Love the color, though!

It's a little hard to see, but Crown Princess Margarita -- who is obscured behind King Constantine -- appears to be wearing a hat that has its own pleated skirt.

HRH The Crown Princess of Sweden and Mr. Daniel Westling
June 19, 2010
Well, kids, yesterday we partied hardy in the wedding live posts, and today we get to have a tiara fiesta! I've compiled all of the tiara entries for the royal guests at Crown Princess Victoria's wedding to Daniel Westling (now Prince Daniel) in this entry.
The wedding, of course, took place in Stockholm yesterday. The couple has been together since 2002, when Daniel became Victoria's personal trainer. Love blossomed, and on their wedding day, Daniel became royal. During their balcony appearance, Victoria thanked the people of Sweden for giving her a prince.
And now, we'll all just have to wait to see how long it takes before the pitter-patter of little royal feet are heard in Haga Palace! ![]()

Crown Princess Margarita of Romania busted out quite the heirloom sparkler for Victoria's wedding: this is the Romanian Greek Key Tiara, which came into the Romanian royal family when Queen Marie of Romania reportedly bought the tiara from her sister, Princess Victoria Melita -- who was always called the dignified nickname "Ducky" by her family members. Ducky was quite the dish -- she had made a scandalous second marriage to Grand Duke Kyril of Russia, and when the Russian imperial family hit hard times, she was forced to sell off her jewelry. Marie gave to Margarita's grandmother, Queen Helen (who was born a princess of Greece and Denmark), and it has remained in the family since then.
This one's a little bigger than the Greek key (or "meander") tiaras that I like, but heck, if you're going to have only one tiara, you might as well have a big one!
P.S.: Two pieces of trivia about Margarita:
1) Her college boyfriend at the University of Edinburgh was former British PM Gordon Brown, and
2) Before he married Margarita, her husband's name was Radu Duda. Radu Duda! Amazing.
