At first, I thought I loved Madeleine's fascinator/headband so much because we almost never see her anymore, but now I think I really like it because, well, I just do.

It's just really adorable -- it could look too "little girl," but she really manages to pull it off.
Also: hello, CP. Sigh. Hear things are getting quite serious with you and the Snake Lady. Hope ... you're ... happy together. *weeps*

Good lord, Madeleine sparkles so much that she barely needs a tiara! But I'm glad she wore this one -- the Modern Fringe Tiara, one of her staple sparklers and one of my favorites on her. It's sitting up a bit high with this hairstyle, but that's a minor quibble really.

That Princess Madeleine -- she's always thinking ahead! Just in case the pen broke while the newlyweds were signing the marriage registry, she came equipped with a quill! Think there's a bottle of ink in her handbag?
Also: thoughts on Mad's new hair color? I'm torn.

I was almost tempted to do a "guess the hidden hatter!" post with this photo, sent in by the lovely Eliza, but the post title sort of gives it away, doesn't it?
It's Princess Madeleine, back in Sweden for the holidays! Don't stay away so long, Mads, and don't hide so much under gigantic artic hoods -- we're severely under our Madeleine tiara quota for the season after you missed out on the Nobels!
(And, oh, honey, ditch the cig. You know what might happen if you don't...)

Mads was looking lovely as usual at the Bernadotte celebrations -- if tiaras aren't in order, a diamond headband is the next best thing!
(And looking closely at this ... it almost looks like the diamond buttons from one of the button tiaras here, doesn't it? I believe they are removable -- wouldn't that be something? Probably not ... but if so, I like them far better on Madeleine in this form!)
Also -- someone showed up with far less hair gel than last time, so we may be slowly reconciling:

HRH The Crown Princess of Sweden and Mr. Daniel Westling
June 19, 2010
Well, kids, yesterday we partied hardy in the wedding live posts, and today we get to have a tiara fiesta! I've compiled all of the tiara entries for the royal guests at Crown Princess Victoria's wedding to Daniel Westling (now Prince Daniel) in this entry.
The wedding, of course, took place in Stockholm yesterday. The couple has been together since 2002, when Daniel became Victoria's personal trainer. Love blossomed, and on their wedding day, Daniel became royal. During their balcony appearance, Victoria thanked the people of Sweden for giving her a prince.
And now, we'll all just have to wait to see how long it takes before the pitter-patter of little royal feet are heard in Haga Palace!

Mads looked just radiant at her big sister's wedding, didn't she? Her blue eyes were bright, and the tiara -- well, let's just say I have a weakness for the Connaught Diamond Tiara. It's so intricate and beautiful.
And ... I'm not sure if any of you read the press release material sent out by the royal court about the family's wedding attire, but the information on Madeleine stated: "Princess Madeleine is wearing her own tiara." Sooooo -- does that mean that Madeleine has been given the Connaught?!? Or did she switch out from another tiara she owned (god forbid, maybe the aquamarine cyclops) at the last minute, like her Auntie Margaretha did?
Also, here's what the press release shares about that knockout necklace: "As a necklace she is wearing what is known as the processional jewels (intågssmycket). The piece was given to the newly named Swedish Crown Princess Victoria for her procession into Stockholm following her wedding in Karlsruhe in 1881. Victoria was given the necklace by her husband, Crown Prince Gustaf (V). The necklace is made of Ceylon sapphires, baroque pearls and diamonds."

And, below, a full-length shot of the gown (maybe with a little more you-know-who for good measure!)...

Hooray -- Princess Madeleine is back from America!

And she's looking outstanding, isn't she? Love the shiny little ornament in her hair.
But wait -- she's pulled a tiara switch-a-roo on us!

That's the Modern Fringe Tiara 'round Madde's neck -- does that mean we'll see something else on her crown tomorrow at the wedding? (Please not the four button, please not the four button...)

![Hattery Flashback: The Wedding of The Prince of Asturias (2004) [PHOTO: Corbis]](http://madhattery.royalroundup.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/2004-0522-spain-felipeletizia-corbis.jpg)
HRH The Prince of Asturias and Miss Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano
May 22, 2004
Only a week after Crown Prince Frederik married Mary Donaldson in Denmark, Prince Felipe of Spain tied the knot with journalist Letizia Ortiz in Madrid. Theirs was the first wedding of a member of the Spanish royal family to take place in Madrid since the wedding of King Alfonso XIII and Princess Ena of Battenberg in 1906. That wedding was marred by an assassination attempt on the royal couple and the tragic deaths of several bystanders -- this one, thankfully, went more smoothly, although it was a cloudy, rainy day in the Spanish capital.
There were a few controversies, however, about Felipe's choice of bride. Letizia, a journalist who covered the September 11th attacks in New York and the Iraq War, will be the first commoner to be queen of Spain. She also had previously been briefly married and divorced. However, because her first wedding was a civil rather than religious one, the Catholic Church did not recognize it, and she was free to marry Felipe.
Felipe and Letizia have become quite a working team since their wedding, frequently appearing together on royal engagements. They have also had two daughters, Infanta Leonor (born in 2005) and Infanta Sofia (born in 2007). Leonor is expected to become queen of Spain in her own right one day -- that is, if her parents don't provide her with a baby brother!

HRH The Crown Prince of Denmark and Miss Mary Donaldson
May 14, 2004
Our last major tiara wedding before Crown Princess Vic's big day was the wedding of Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Tasmanian-born Mary Elizabeth Donaldson. The two met during the Sydney Olympics in 2000, fell in love, and got hitched four years later.
Frederik and his Aussie bride have two children: Prince Christian (who will one day be king) and Princess Isabella, the first Danish princess born in a generation. Mary has transformed from an everyday girl to a glamorous crown princess, and this wedding was definitely high on the glamour factor as well: we've got more than thirty tiaras on parade here, many of which are brand-new to the blog. A good trial run for Victoria's wedding, no doubt! Enjoy!
