Queen Cake's hat at this visit to the Dutch Council of State is wacky, but it's repeat wacky.  The real story is the topper behind her...

Looks like Máx borrowed Bea's scarf from the last mosque visit, and Bea decided to go as Flora rather than Merryweather.  You guys, I think the Scarf Cake Hat really is my new favorite thing.  So medieval!

It's Black Cake Hat Appearance #3 for this state visit -- even though I don't think it's all the same hat, if you look at the details.  Well -- if it ain't broke...?

I think it's sort of hilarious that Cake brought along two purple hats in relatively similar sizes and shapes on this trip.  (This one, I think, is clearly the superior of the two.)  Also hilarious is that she's matched her eyeshadow to this one.  Your Maj, you are simply amazing.

It's Tiara Alert time in Oman tonight!  Here's Queen Bea in the Mellerio Ruby Tiara, the same sparkler she wore to Crown Princess Victoria's wedding.  It's one of the tiaras that she wears best, IMO -- you've got to be able to see it over the barnet!

Can't recall seeing this triple-layer tangerine creation on Trix on the blog before ... but if any queen can pull off a gigantic orange hat, surely it's the Queen of The Netherlands!

Far more exciting than this hat (yaaaaawn) is the fact that there was apparently a mishap in planning with the tides at the Port of Dubai, and Queen Cake nearly had to swim ashore to get off the thing.  Somehow I don't think this hat would have been able to adequately protect the Royal Hair-Do, so thank goodness the gang plank finally worked...

Typical lavender cake-hat-on-a-plate from Queen Bea at the second event of the day, a meeting with the UAE's president and crown prince.  At first, I thought this was an open-topped cake hat (the horror! the horror!), but that's just Máxima's noggin back there.  Trix's bouffant is tall, but it isn't that tall!
