Time to have a boat parade in the freezing cold rain, everybody! Good thing the ladies brought their hats along...

The back-of-the-head hat rides again! We last saw this little gem during the Oranges' trip to New York in 2009. This time, though, it's sort of more ... side-of-the-middle-of-the-head. Hm.

Oh, let's face it: I'm never going to understand this hat. I hope next time she wears it over her forehead or as a necklace or something even crazier!

Can't recall seeing this triple-layer tangerine creation on Trix on the blog before ... but if any queen can pull off a gigantic orange hat, surely it's the Queen of The Netherlands!

Like the orange-y red of this hat ... unfortunately, the shape is giving me less "Nobel Peace Prize" and more "looks the tupperware stash under my sink." And now I'm having Astrid flashbacks...

Did someone order three adorable Dutch princesses in colorful hats? It's that time of year again -- Santa has arrived in the Netherlands. (For real? We're that close to Christmas? I have so many presents to buy!)
It's amazing how much these three have grown since the last time we saw them greeting Sinterklaas in Scheveningen. Love that Amalia especially is going for the jaunty look with her beret this year. ![]()

You know, I am not a big fan of peach as a general rule, but I love love love this on Victoria. She looks smashing! (And, as is always true with the Bernadottes, her hair is amazing. They need to lend their hairstylists out to the other royals for big occasions.)

A new hatter! This is Princess Mabereng of Lesotho. She's the wife of Prince Seeiso -- he's on the left -- who started the Sentebale charity with Prince Harry, so she's got some pretty good connections with the Windsors.
I like the way this look bridges traditional African design and current Western clothing trends -- and the color is fab.
