Holmenkollen Chapel: Miss Leah Behn

Posted on December 25th, 2010 by Ella  |  7 Comments »

Hey, Leah?  I know you're not actually a princess, but is there any way you could still pop by lots of royal events in future?  Because any little girl who says, "Fine, Mom, I'll wear the same hat, coat, and purse as my big sister, but only if I can wear my TUTU to church and scowl at the photographers!" is truly a Mad Hatter in the making -- I can feel it!

If you could just team up with our favorite Danish guest correspondent for future antics, I'd be much obliged! ;)

Aw, little Maud Behn looks adorable in her winter hat, doesn't she?  Perfectly suited for a chilly Scandinavian morning, and cute to boot!  (Love the purse, Maudie!)

Royal Ascot 2010, Day 1: HRH Princess Alexandra, The Hon. Lady Ogilvy

Another great hattery outing for Princess Alexandra!  She's really embracing her inner glamorous royal here rather than her inner mumsy gran, and I love it.  This silvery hat is just wonderful -- it has just enough embellishment to be interesting.  Bravo!

The Danish monarchy: now sponsored by Adidas!

(But seriously, what the ever-loving hell is this???)

Swiss Alps: HRH Infanta Leonor and HRH Infanta Sofia

It's a Holy Week miracle ... not one, but two new little princesses for the blog!  (Or, perhaps I should say, infantas.)

It's still ski season for the royals of Europe, and this time, it was the Spanish royal family's chance to hit the slopes.  Princess Letizia, wife of Prince Felipe and future queen of Spain, took her adorable little girls out on the piste in Switzerland for the first time.

The adorable Infanta Leonor, the elder daughter (and future queen of Spain) looks a little nervous to be hitting the bunny slopes for the first time, but at least she's got an adorable pink jacket and helmet to cheer her up!

Also in need of cheering up was her little sister, Infanta Sofia:

Aww, it's okay, Sofia ... you'll get to ski when you're older, too -- and by the way, excellent striped hat!

I really can't wait for these two to become an adorable hattery sister act in coming years.  Yorkies 2.0, perhaps? ¡Olé!

Ski Jumping in Holmenkollen: HRH The Crown Princess of Norway

It's a casual hat kind of day for Mette-Marit, who went with the entire family to watch a ski jumping competition at Holmenkollen.  If you're going to go casual like this with a knit cap, this one's a good choice, I think.  I like the purple stripes, and I love the oh-so-Scandinavian blond braid peeking out!

By the looks of things, I wasn't the only one who liked this hattery decision...

Awww.  These two always look like kids in puppy love, don't they?  Adorable. :)
