"GASP! Ladies, have you SEEN the amount of plumage in this castle today???"
Our other royal hatter-in-residence at today's Jubilee event is the always-lovely CP Mary, in a hat we last saw on the blog during Margrethe's 70th birthday celebrations in 2010. (In fact, I believe we've got a repeat of the entire outfit, even down to the jewelry.) But I don't mind -- out of all of Mary's tall-crown hats, I think this one might be my favorite.
No Marie at these events, sadly -- but she gets a pass, because she's about to give Daisy the best Jubilee gift of all, an eighth grandchild! I've got my fingers crossed for another little Danish princess...

HBIC. I love everything, everything about this.
(Also: Happy Hat Christmas Eve, everyone! That's it for Garter Day, but get ready -- tomorrow, it's ASCOT TIME! May you all dream of Yorkies and Zsa-Zsa Princess Michael tonight.)

LOL, this is such an "I'm a Lady of the Garter, and you're not" face. Love ya, Annie!

Let's kick off our Garter Day 2011 coverage with some Kents, shall we? Specifically: Alex and Eddie. Of course, I love the hats -- but I love the expressions on their faces even more. Clearly they've just seen Carol Thatcher emerging from St. George's Chapel:
ETA: Okay, the photo agency dated the pictures wrong -- Carol wasn't there today in this spectacular get-up, unfortunately. Still funny, though. Anyway, any guesses as to what else the Kent sibs may have spied?

Approximately 500 of you have e-mailed me about this hat, and for good reason: it's ... not good.
Nobody rocks the formal robes of a chivalric order like the Thistle better than the Windsor women, huh? Lil looks smashing in her Thistle robes. I give it an A plus!
